This is an Albanian traditional recipe called 'Oriz me mish pule' or 'Byrjan'. It can be served with bread, yogurt and salad.
- 1 whole chicken
- 6 small cups of rice
- little carrot
- little onion
- little red pepper
- olive oil
- black pepper
- 1In a pot, boil the chopped chicken for about 30-40 minutes with a little salt (maximum heat at first, then in a medium heat).
- 2After the meat is simmered, take the baking pan and with a little oil, carrot, onion and finely minced pepper (to taste) fry all together for 2-3 minutes. After that add the rice and also fry it with vegetables for about 3 minutes.
- 3Finally add the water from the pot where meat was boiled (11 cups), sparkle with salt and black pepper and add the pieces of meat.
- 4Leave it in the oven for 40 minutes in 250 degrees C (until the water drain).
